Santa Maria Rotarian, Frank Ortiz, has been selected by the District Nominating Committee as District Governor Nominee for the 2012-2013 Rotary year.

Frank Ortiz has been a member of the Rotary Club of Santa Maria Breakfast for the past 12 years.  As an active member of his club, Frank served as Club President in 2003-2004.  He has held Club offices as Club Secretary, International Service Director, Vocational Service Director, Youth Exchange Program Chair, Club TRF Chair and Rotary Centennial Park project co-chair. 
 
Frank has also been quite active within the District and has served as Group Representative for 2 years, Assistant Governor for 2 years, 2008 District Conference Chair; 2009 Foundation Gala Chair; as well as a member of the District Personnel Committee and District Governor Nominating Committee.  He is currently serving as the District Vocational Service Director, and will serve as District Community Service Director for 2010-11.

> Wife, Scottie Ortiz, is a Multiple Paul Harris Fellow. 
> Both participated in Polio NID in Nigeria, 2007.

> Rotary Awards:  2003-04 Outstanding "Medium Size Club" in District; 2005-06 Group Rep of the Year; 2008-09 District 5240 Rotarian of the Year (shared).
 
For the past 13 years, Frank and his wife, Scottie, have resided in Santa Maria where Frank had served as the City's Fire Chief from 1997 to 2009.  They have two adult children and have two grandchildren.
