I joined Rotary in 2005 and completed Master PRLS in 2006! I wanted to learn about this new organization I had joined and how to improve my leadership skills. Master PRLS did both of these things for me. I was a member of a neighboring Rotary District and rose at 3:30 a.m. each Saturday to drive to Santa Maria to complete my Master PRLS courses. It was a proud moment for me to receive my designation and to wear my pin to my club meetings. I truly believe the courses helped me to be a better Rotarian and Rotary club president. I began teaching the PRLS courses in that District in 2007. I now live in District 5240 and am proud to serve this District as the PRLS Director.
I believe these courses provide you the opportunity to become a better person, a better Rotarian. I also know that your participation will lead to lifelong friendships. PRLS is more than a leadership program, it is an opportunity to meet motivated professionals who want to make things happen in their community and the world.
The PRLS program is provided to you by District 5240 as an opportunity to push your professional and personal boundaries. It is a program of 5 courses, following an introduction providing the a background in Rotary and the basic skills to plan organize and properly manage a meeting.
If you complete all 6 courses, PRLS will provide you with an opportunity to be a better leader, and by extension a better Rotarian.
I challenge you to get involved with PRLS Program and change your life, and the life of others.
Yours in Rotary,
Marta Golding Brown
PRLS Director
