The Bakersfield Breakfast Rotary will proudly present its annual 1000 Flags display at The Park at River Walk over Memorial Day weekend (Saturday May 23th through Monday May 25th) , creating a powerful tribute to the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

With the help of hundreds of dedicated community volunteers, Club members will place 1,000 American flags in a striking formation – each one a quiet reminder of courage, sacrifice, and service, transforming the park into a moving and reflective space for the community. The community is invited to view the display beginning at noon on Saturday. The Memorial Day weekend celebration will also include:

  • A Saturday evening concert and BBQ from 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM.  Tickets can be purchased in advance by contacting Marti Lari at redlari523@gmail.com .
  • The Thousand Flags 5K Fun Run/One Mile Memorial Walk on Sunday morning.  Go to the following website to register runsignup.com or sign up the day of the event at 7:00 AM.
  • A Patriotic Vendor Fair will be held on Memorial Day, featuring organizations that serve veterans.
  • Memorial Day Program will be held on Monday starting at noon including distinguished speakers, United States Army Parachutist display and  presentations of donations to local military/veteran’s organizations.
This meaningful annual tradition will once again unite the Bakersfield community in remembrance, gratitude, and service—core values of Rotary!
