Bakersfield East Rotary Club is known for hands on community service projects. On March 21st, the club worked with Community Action of Partnership of Kern (CAPK) to volunteer at their food bank packing food for the elderly. Led by two of the club’s Corporate Members: Kern Family Health Systems and Houchin Community Blood Bank, we assisted with packing 528 boxes of food for those in need. Maritiza Jimenez of Kern Health Systems is also a board member for Community Action Partnership (CAPK) and organized the service project for the club. In addition to volunteering hours, the club will make a $1,000 contribution to support the efforts of CAPK to fight food insecurity.
