Over the past ten months, Simi Sunrise Rotary has been diligently planning a Vocational Trade show aimed at providing students with a meaningful and engaging experience. This initiative is grounded in our belief that early exposure to career pathways can empower students to make informed decisions about their futures. With careful planning and a clear vision, we are working to ensure the event is not only educational but also inspiring.
A committed team of approximately 15 members has come together to bring this vision to life. Meeting regularly, the committee has been coordinating every detail of what will be the first event of its kind in the fall of 2026. The trade show will serve as a platform to introduce students to a broad spectrum of career opportunities within the skilled trades—areas that are often underrepresented in traditional career fairs.
What sets this event apart is its hands-on approach. Rather than just presenting information, the trade show will allow students to engage directly with various trades through interactive experiences. We have been actively collaborating with multiple trades organizations to build strong partnerships that will enrich the event. These collaborations are crucial in creating dynamic, real-world learning opportunities that will help shape the next generation of skilled professionals.
