Four years ago, our Peace Builders Committee invited high school students to create painted pickets after engaging in lessons about resolving conflicts and discussing their personal definitions of peace. The pickets were displayed throughout the community, leading to numerous requests from locals interested in purchasing them. This year, our Rotary Pickets for Peace fundraiser was a remarkable success, allowing us to sell 60 pickets for a total of $1,800, which we will donate to End Polio. With the matching funds from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, over $5,000 will be allocated to efforts aimed at eradicating Polio globally.
