The Rotary Club of Ventura has been hosting our three (3) Interact Clubs at least once a year each (Foothill High School, Ventura High School & Pacific High School).  Over the last two (2) years, we’ve challenged each Interact Club to completely own/take over a Rotary Club meeting.  All of them have taken on the challenge!  These meetings have turned into fun and engaging meetings for the Interactors and Rotarians.

On April 30, 2025, it was Foothill High School’s Interact Club’s turn.  The meeting was produced and run by the Interactors, including an engaging program about all of the work they’ve accomplished during this Rotary year.

The Interact Club of Foothill Technology High School (one of the three Interact Clubs sponsored by the Rotary Club of Ventura) has had a busy and successful year of service projects. They provided a 2024-2025 Rotary year wrap up including one of their final projects coming up on May 3rd.   Here’s the summary of that project and event.

“Read Across Ventura” event organized/collaborated with the Ventura Education Partnership.  On Saturday, May 3rd, 12 FTHS Interact students volunteered to set up the event (arriving at 8:30 AM) and then read to kids and families attending the event. The Interact students brought joy and energy to the gray cold morning set up, and then they gave lively readings of books chosen by the little kids attending the event. The Interactors were also thrilled when asked to don the mascot-style costumes of Pete The Cat and the dragon from “My Friend Is a Dragon” and greet the families as they arrived at the event. It was a fun event focused on the joy of reading, and afterwards the FTHS Interact students discussed ways to make it even bigger and better next year.
