At Next Gen Rotary, service is more than something we do, it's how we build community, friendships, leadership, and a shared sense of purpose.

This Rotary year, our club embraced the overarching theme "Impact Over Intent," a mindset that guided everything from our service projects to our speakers, socials, and member experience. Each month, we explored themes centered on personal growth, leadership, community engagement, and meaningful action, shaping the content of our meetings and the conversations within our club. For us, Rotary is not just about good ideas, it is about showing up, rolling up our sleeves, and creating tangible impact together.

Our members regularly participate in environmental projects like the Agoura Creek Cleanup and beach cleanups at Ormond Beach, making a real difference in our own backyard. These activities bring members, families, friends, and prospective members together, building service and stronger relationships along the way. An annual favorite is hosting a water station during the Agoura Great Race, where members cheer on the runners, including some of our own members who run, and hand out water, keeping our club engaged and connected to the Conejo Valley community.

While Next Gen Rotary was rooted in young professional energy, our service spans generations. Alongside our Interact students, we helped them volunteer at a senior center, creating meaningful connections for older adults. Watching high school students and Rotarians serve side by side is a powerful reminder of Rotary's ability to unite all ages through a common purpose.

Our socials also serve as opportunities for giving back. At our January social, members handcrafted Valentine's Day cards for seniors at Silverado Memory Care, turning a fellowship event into a heartfelt gesture to remind residents they are loved.

Next Gen Rotary also creates experiences that strengthen connection and belonging. This year, we hosted networking and membership events to introduce prospective members to Rotary, emphasizing authentic relationships, service, and professional growth.

Collaboration has also become a cornerstone of our identity. Our members love partnering with other local organizations, nonprofits, and Rotary clubs whenever possible. Whether through environmental projects, community events, or service collaborations, we believe the greatest impact comes when people work together across organizations and generations.

As a newer Rotary club, we have dedicated much of this year to improving the overall member experience, from the structure of our meetings and onboarding process to mentorship, fellowship, and intentional engagement opportunities. Every improvement points toward the same goal: a club where people feel connected, valued, and inspired to stay. We believe that strong retention and sustainable growth happen organically when members genuinely enjoy serving together.

Through every cleanup, community partnership, social event, and service project, Next Gen Rotary continues to build a culture rooted in action, fellowship, and purpose. We are proud to be creating a modern Rotary experience that proves meaningful impact starts when people come together and choose action over intention.
