The Pismo Beach Five Cities Rotary Foundation (TRF) Chair, Steve Curry, provided an instructive history of The Rotary Foundation. He included how the foundation got started, how the money is invested and distributed. He described the foundations impact on the elimination of Polio and four members of our club who participated in national immunization trips to India.
Steve provided a lengthy list of projects the Pismo Five Cities club has been involved with. He humanized the impact the projects have made. Steve introduced members who we’re giving out a Paul Harris award. Sharon Ellis gave two Paul Harris Awards to her two granddaughters, one who is a student and the other a graduate of Oklahoma State University. Both granddaughters majored in animal science. Sharon Olson gave a Paul Harris Fellow to her grandson. Don Weber gave a Paul Harris to Rick McConnell, and one to his granddaughter, Alexis Walsh. The club gave a standing ovation for all the recipients.
