In a demonstration of Service Above Self, the Rotaract Club of Ventura recently completed a life-changing international service project in partnership with the Corazon Foundation. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community and months of dedicated fundraising efforts, our club raised a total of $15,000 to contribute to the construction of a brand-new home for a family in need in Mexico.A team of volunteers arrived at the site early in the morning, and through incredible teamwork and coordination, the entire house was started and completed in a single day. By sunset, a family that had been living in precarious conditions had a safe, secure, and permanent roof over their heads.
But the impact didn’t stop at the physical structure. Most notably, a significant portion of the funds were dedicated to securing a college scholarship for the family’s eldest daughter, allowing her to pursue her dream of studying law.
This project goes beyond brick and mortar; it’s about breaking the cycle of poverty and providing a foundation for future generations. The Rotaract Club of Ventura extends a heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, and supported this initiative. Together, we didn't just build a house—we built a future.
