The conflict in Ukraine and the need for support of the Ukrainian people was taken head on by Bob Hather, a member of the Monday Rotary Club of San Luis Obispo. Bob owns many businesses, and one of them is a manufacturing plant that produces portable water drilling equipment. Bob needed to visit the plant, located on the east coast. Instead of taking a commercial flight to the manufacturing plant, as an avid motorcyclist, Bob came up with the idea of having the Monday Rotary Club members, and his friends and business associates, sponsor his ride by pledging money for every mile he rode. Through his efforts, Bob raised over $11,000 that was sent to the Rotary Foundation for Ukrainian Relief efforts.
