Established 2006 as a RI Centennial Celebration Project
Bakersfield Breakfast Rotary Club (BBRC) Members and volunteers planted 100 trees to establish a natural setting that could be used as a commemorative park by Bakersfield and Kern County Citizens as a place to honor the memory of a special person or pay tribute to a special occasion.

This was done in conjunction with:
    Bakersfield Breakfast Rotary
    City of Bakersfield
    Tree Foundation of Kern
    Kern River Parkway Foundation

BBRC has done the following in the Grove during RI year 2017-18.
    1.  Clean and help maintain the Grove in November 2017.  We planted 10 new trees in the grove on this day. Volunteers included BBRC members, family, Interact clubs and Rotaract Club.
    2. We have taken a portion of our annual fundraising and have directed it to at least one improvement in the Grove annually.
      1. This year we replaced brass memorial plaques that had been stolen with granite markers.
    3.  We had a second cleanup in April 2018.  During this event we began placing the new plaques into the grove.
