We “passed the hat” around at our October 10th meeting for the victims of hurricane Helene. This was after a plea from Rotary Zones 33 and 34 who were affected by the damage. We collected $3,095 dollars from our members that morning and added a $1,000 from our Foundation. The $4,095 was sent to the Rotary link (https://www.rizones33-34.org/disaster-relief/) as provided by Director Patrick Eakes from Zones 33 and 34.
We hosted a progressive auction at our weekly meeting this morning for Mission Hope Cancer Center. The items that our members bid on were a “pink Rotary pumpkin” and a blinged out kids John Deer pedal tractor that was donated by Cal Coast Machinery. At the end of a very lively and competitive bidding session, we collected $4,442 that will go towards Mission Hope Cancer research.
