GLOBAL GRANT # 2570095, HOST ROTARY CLUB – SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE MID-DAY; INTERNATIONAL ROTARY CLUB – ROTARY CLUB OF CAMBRIA, CA.
The purpose of this project is to expand vocational training opportunities and options in a community that has experienced significant population growth and has significant need for skilled workers and tradespeople. The State of Guanajuato currently has an employment rate of 42% for woman and 57.5% for men and only 22.7% of the population over 15 years of age in San Miguel de Allende has completed high school or above. The project will provide vocational training courses in skill areas identified as lacking in the labor force including; electrical, plumbing, customer service, graphic design, computer programming and technology and repair, salesmanship and nursing. The project also includes English language training as an obligatory part of the curricula. Project partner is APOYO, an NGO that the Rotary Club of San Miguel de Allende Mid-Day has partnered with for five years. (https://www.apoyomexico.com/ )
