Strategic Planning Committee is Alive and Well in Ventura

For the first time ever, Ventura Rotary has a Strategic Planning Committee thanks to the directive of Rotary International.  President-Elect Ellyn Dembowski was inspired by the challenge from RI and set out to create a Strategic Plan for the Club.  She amassed a strong group of active Rotarians (the majority of which are new members to the club) and followed the action items suggested by RI.  The first task for the committee was to engage in a member survey.

The committee did an exceptional job of sending the survey multiple times to the entire membership, calling members, making announcements, and incentivizing survey responses.  Within 3 weeks the committee garnered an amazing 78% response rate from 100+ Club membership.  The survey helped outline key areas where members wanted to see action.  The committee outlined these key areas and then set aside time during a Club meeting to hold a breakout session at each round table where members discussed ideas for improvement.  The 2017 Strategic Plan was officially enacted and presented to the Club on May 10, 2015.  It works!  Members are excited for the coming year and feel empowered about the direction of the Club.
