As a new community service project, The Rotary Club of Ventura partnered with the Ventura County Art Events organization to co-produce the 2024 Ventura Chalk Art Festival at the Ventura Harbor. This 2 day event was held on September 14th and 15th with 35 amateur and professional arts from all parts west of the Mississippi. There were exhibits, games and the featured artist was Greg Wray, the original illustrator of Sonic the Hedgehog. Greg is a proud member of our Ventura Rotary community.
Over 3,000 visitors and local attendees were delighted with the color and unique styles of the artists and their work.

- Chalk Art Murals: Watch professional artists from California and beyond create large-scale chalk murals along the waterfront promenade, primarily on the waterfront promenade from Le Petit Café & Bakery to Island Packers.
- Featured Artist: Greg Wray, renowned for his work on the Sonic the Hedgehog video game series, will be creating a Sonic-themed beach scene, engaging with spectators during his artistic process.
- Children’s Art Area: A special space for kids to express their creativity, hosted by Ventura County Art Events
- Craftsman’s Marketplace: Explore and shop for original artwork, ceramics, photography, and handmade goods from vendors set up between Andria’s Seafood and Brophy Bros.
- Live Music: Enjoy live performances from 1-4 PM, perfect for an afternoon by the harbor.
- Family-Friendly Attractions: Face painting, eclectic shops, and delicious dining options throughout Ventura Harbor Village.
