May is Youth Service Month.

In Rotary, and especially in our District, we strongly believe in helping our youth to develop into our next generation of leaders.

After visiting our District Clubs I know for sure that all our Clubs care about our Youth. There are so many scholarships that go to our students every year from our Rotary Clubs.

We have different programs in order to support our youth:

  • Interact Clubs
  • RYLA – we just had RYLA this past weekend
  • Youth Exchange – gives the opportunity for high schools students to spend one school year in a foreign country. This program is very close to my heart – it is so wonderful to work with the students and to see how much they change for the better after the year of exchange is over.

Now as our Rotary year is getting closer to the end please remember The Rotary Foundation and make some donations to support Polio Eradication. Our goal is to have each club in our district contribute at least $100 to the Polio Plus fund.  Also remember the Annual Fund as that is where we get our District Designated Funds to help us with our grants.

At the beginning of next month, June 4 – 8, is the International Convention in Houston.  If you never been to a convention come and celebrate with Rotary – it is not too far away. We have almost 100 Rotarians from our District registered!

President Shekhar’s presidential conference (“Serve to Bring Peace”) will be held the day before, on June 3rd.

A big thank you to our Clubs that contributed funds to help the Ukraine crisis. The District fund raised over $75,000.  Here are some of the latest Ukraine photos.  Thank you so much for our Clubs’ generosity!
