February is Peace and Conflict Resolution and Prevention Month.

February is the month to celebrate the 117th Anniversary of Rotary International doing good in the world!  Think about all the ways you can  honor this anniversary – maybe a donation  to the Rotary Foundation’s Annual fund. Remember, this is the fund that gives back to our District each year in the form of District Designated Funds (DDFs), which helps us with our grants.

February is also Peace and Conflict Resolution and Prevention Month.  During these challenging times, it is most important that we think about conflict management – even try to have a presentation or workshop at your club or your group of clubs to discuss conflict prevention.  Topics can include “how we can have the difficult conversation”, “how we can agree to disagree”, and “how we can embrace our differences”.

Promoting Peace and understaffing between countries is more important than ever. You can do it by embracing the Rotary Program Inter Country Committees – ICCs https://www.rotary-icc.org.  For more information about our District involvement, contact Jane Howard trainerjane46@hotmail.com.

Our District was featured in the February Rotary magazine for the “Rotary Day of Service“ Project of Ventura County – Backpacks for back to school.

RI President Shekhar started the challenge of “Rotary Days of Service”.  Please remember to assess your local communities and look for potential projects that address one of the seven Areas of Focus.  Invite Rotarians and non Rotarians to work together and invite other nonprofit organizations to get involved. Please remember to send your story to publish on our district website and submit it to the Rotary Showcase at Rotary.org.
