High School is always a difficult coming of age time for any student, especially someone who questions what career pathway might be appropriate for them to pursue given their interests, talents and abilities. The Conejo Unified School District Career Technical Education department might have made this journey slightly easier for some students with a new website that went live in December 2021.
The site needs business registrations to succeed and Rotarians in the Thousand Oaks Rotary Club are helping to populate it with our members’ businesses. There is an opportunity for other group 4 clubs of the Conejo Valley to log on to https://conejocte.org and register their businesses. Students can then see what career opportunities potentially are available to them and possibly set up a mentor/visitation appointment for the students at the prospective business.
The CVUSD CTE program is not new, but this website gives everyone, students and businesses alike, an opportunity to investigate and pursue vocational pathways that might not have been obvious to them in the past. If anyone is interested in registering their business please go directly to the site or if they have questions please email Steven Stanley at stevenfstanley@verizon.net. Hopefully other school districts in 5240 can utilize a similar site if things work out as planned.
